Experience
I have teaching and tutoring experience with a wide range of ages, having worked for a number of years in formal K-12 education. I also have spent time tutoring college-aged student in the subject of essay writing. In all of my years working with different ages and skill levels, I have encountered students with various educational needs and become comfortable adapting to whatever I come across. I am confident in my ability to effectively tutor in a wide range of subjects, from basic Mathematics and English to Psychology and the Social Sciences. In addition to my experience as an individual tutor, I have spent time as a teaching assistant in a traditional classroom setting. I also enjoy small group teaching. I believe in basic teaching tenets such as positive reinforcement but understand that each student learns in his or her own way. Therefore I don't apply the same strategies with all of my students. I work hard to first learn what works for each of them before molding my lessons individually. In my free time, I like to throw myself into creative works such as music and digital collage. I have also developed a hobby of tea blending and enjoy practicing yoga.
